MacBook Repair Perth
Cracked screen, tired battery, sticky keys or a MacBook that won't charge? DV Computers repairs MacBook Pro and MacBook Air at our Myaree workshop, along with iMac, Mac mini and the older Macs Apple no longer services.
Mac Repairs in Perth, Quoted Before We Start
Most MacBook problems look alike from the outside. A Mac that won't turn on might need a new battery, a charging port or a logic board repair, and each of those is priced very differently. We assess your Mac first, explain what's actually wrong and give you a no-obligation quote. Nothing goes ahead until you approve it.
DV Computers has been repairing computers in Perth since 2001. Our dedicated Apple technicians work on everything from a current MacBook Air to a Mac that's well past Apple's support window. The workshop is at 29 Hulme Ct, Myaree, a short drive from Booragoon, Melville, Applecross and Bicton, and Mac owners bring their machines to us from right across Perth.

Older and Unsupported Macs
Apple classes a product as vintage once it stopped selling it more than five years ago, and obsolete once it's been more than seven. For obsolete products, Apple discontinues all hardware service and its service providers can't order parts. The main exception is battery-only repairs on some Mac laptops for up to 10 years.
Devices Apple no longer supports remain fully serviceable at DV Computers. Our technicians work on vintage models, and where new parts are no longer made, original used parts are often the answer, covered by our 6-month warranty. That can keep a well-built older Mac going for a good while longer, whether it's the family iMac or a MacBook Pro you rely on for work.
If an older Mac isn't worth repairing, we'll tell you plainly. It may still have value through our IT equipment buyback, and if it doesn't, we can recycle it responsibly.
iMac and Mac mini Repairs
The same technicians repair Apple's desktops. Whether your iMac or Mac mini won't start, has slowed to a crawl, has a display or power fault, or needs macOS reinstalled, the process is the same: assess, quote, then repair once you've approved it.
Many older Intel iMacs and Mac minis can take a faster SSD or more memory, which is often the most cost-effective way to get more life out of them. On Apple silicon Macs (M1 and later), memory is built into the chip and storage generally can't be upgraded after purchase, so we'll tell you upfront what's possible for your model.

MacBook Repair Questions
How much does MacBook repair cost in Perth?
It depends on the model and the fault. A battery replacement and a logic board repair are very different jobs, and parts prices vary between models. We assess your Mac first and give you a no-obligation quote, and nothing goes ahead until you approve it.
How long does a MacBook repair take?
It depends on the fault and whether the part is in stock or needs to be ordered. We'll give you a realistic timeframe with your quote and keep you updated if anything changes.
Can you repair a Mac that Apple says is vintage or obsolete?
Yes. Apple discontinues hardware service for obsolete products, generally those it stopped selling more than seven years ago, but devices Apple no longer supports remain fully serviceable at DV Computers. Where new parts are no longer made, we can often use original used parts, covered by our 6-month warranty.
What parts do you use, and what warranty do I get?
You can choose between original used parts, covered by our 6-month warranty, and quality new parts, available in-store or on order and covered by our 12-month warranty. We'll tell you which options are available for your model and the price of each before you decide.
Are you an Apple Authorised Service Provider?
No. DV Computers is an independent repairer and isn't affiliated with Apple. We've been repairing computers in Perth since 2001, our dedicated Apple technicians repair MacBook, iMac and Mac mini, including models Apple no longer services, and every repair is covered by our own parts warranty.
Can you get my files off a MacBook that won't turn on?
Often, but it depends on the model. On most recent Macs, including T2 and Apple silicon models, the storage is soldered to the logic board and encrypted, so the best path to your files is usually repairing the Mac so it starts again. On older models with a removable drive, data can often be recovered directly. See our data recovery page for more.
Do you repair iMac and Mac mini as well?
Yes. We repair iMac and Mac mini as well as MacBook Pro and MacBook Air, including startup and power faults, slow performance, macOS reinstalls and hardware upgrades on models where the hardware allows it.
I spilled something on my MacBook. What should I do?
Switch it off straight away, unplug the charger and don't try to turn it back on to check it. Bring it in as soon as you can, because the sooner liquid damage is cleaned and assessed, the better the chance of a successful repair. Our liquid spillage repair page has more detail.
